Once Upon A Player by Agay Llanera
Genre: Contemporary Romance / Chick Lit
Gorgeous college senior Val Fabian is a player in every sense of the word. She’s the star spiker of her university’s volleyball team, and she never runs out of dates. But it seems that this year, she has finally been bitten by the commitment bug. She sets her sights on an unexpected target–the unassuming yet ultra-cute Jake Clementia. Val is used to getting what she wants, and is sure she’ll snag him before graduation. But in the process of winning his heart, she is sideswiped by a surprise move that sends her tumbling from her pedestal.
Val felt the tingle of anticipation as Jake turned to her.
“Take care, Val.” He grinned and leaned forward to buss her cheek. Taken by surprise, Val turned her head at the last minute. Jake’s cheek brushed her lips instead.
“Oops!” she giggled as she pulled back, feeling an actual blush spread up to the roots of her hair.
Jake chuckled. “Take two.” He leaned in again, and their cheeks lightly touched. “Glad you could stop by… Gertrude.”
Val’s head jerked up just in time to see them, those gorgeous brown eyes dancing to the beat of her thumping heart.
Val didn’t just walk out of that room. She floated—all the way down the two flights of stairs, out the door, past the cobbled footpath and into EJ’s creaky pickup truck.
As she sat down, she planted her feet firmly on the floor and gripped the sides of her seat. Because if she didn’t, she knew she would soar out the car window; up, up, and away, plunging into the infinite ocean of stars and that one smiley moon.
